don’t be afraid of your feelings

Sometimes it’s just jump and go. Dare and who knows! In any case, if you don’t try, you never know. And you might also regret it so…..jump. And please, sometimes express your doubts. If your staff knows that you are also just being human, it might make them feel better. It’s nicer to create something together and believe it or not, that also makes you (not just your staff) stronger. Together, you get further. Everything can get better if only you will test… If you don’t test, you never know!

open to communication

Feeling….what is feeling? How to be vulnerable without losing your managership.
Sometimes you think; ‘I am a manager, I have to be strong’, show that I can do anything. That I can be the boss of… But chances are they will then see you as arrogant and as someone with macho behaviour. What would another person say who observes you … Often we feel very important as managers. But we all poop and piss in the same toilet… the only big difference is as a manager, you have the responsibility. And then take this responsibility but in a good way and in a nice way for the rest of your team. Or sometimes you don’t feel that way but others see you that way in you. If you don’t behave as macho and arrogant but rather open and approachable, you open yourself up to being more accessible. And your team knows that you are open to communication, even about difficult issues your team may be dealing with.

open completely different doors

If you behave in a vulnerable and softer way, you will open completely different doors. Your team will feel understood and the atmosphere will become a lot more pleasant for all of you. Show that you too have something to learn and that you too have feelings. And you don’t know everything yet either, you are also human, just like them! As a result, it is absolutely possible that performance will automatically go up purely because conditions are no longer tense but more relaxed. A, they dare more. B, they want to work for you so they are more ready for you. C, they also want to feel responsible for their work. D, especially if they don’t have to do it alone but with the team. E, and often it can make your team feel good that you don’t have to carry it all alone. Sure you keep the final responsibility but how nice is that to do that as an equal height. And not as a bossy person who is above the team.
